It was so awesome to get to photograph my co-workers little addition (the first girl in 5 generations!).  Melanie is a paramedic in Haldimand County where I work my full-time job…and she now gets an entire year off to spend with her new family 🙂  (a family that is in very good hands!)

What a beautiful family.

I love when people bring something to a newborn session that has a little meaning behind it…this is what Melanie wore in her hair for her wedding.  So pretty.

Last one for now.

What a tiny little God-made piece of perfection this guy was who came to the studio today 🙂  If I haven’t mentioned it in the past…I really, really, REALLY love being a newborn photographer.  It’s my most favourite thing in the world! LOVE IT!

Very proud big brother used to fit in this wagon himself once.

So as you know I’m a huge ETSY fan – but this adorable hat came all the way from Scotland!  Would love to have a Scotland Etsy!

Gorgeous mom came in looking stunning! Heals, dress, you would never know she gave birth less than two weeks ago…

Well it has been an adventure to say the least.  Our family has always loved Great Danes and we have had two in the past and we could not wait to have another addition to our family.  We were originally planning on getting our new Great Dane puppy next spring – but then came Kingston.  We found CK Harlequins and their love of their danes captured our hearts and we knew whatever pup we ended up with would come from amazing blood lines and from a home of nothing but love!~  As a matter of fact today when we loaded Kingston into our vehicle, the breeder cried….and then I cried…and then my daughter cried.  My daughter had no idea we were getting our newest furry family member today and was ecstatic when we arrived at the breeders house and we were surrounded by hundreds of pounds of dog…but when she saw the tears of the breeder….she cried.  She was so sad for them…not realizing that Kingston is in a new home filled with people who have wanted him for a long time.  Welcome to the family King!

Kingston is only 3 1/2 months old…he will be 4 months on January 10th.  But check out how big this boy is going to be…this is my daughters 11-year-0ld hands….

First day home and we have had only one accident (wow – big and smelly!!) lol…but we love him anyway 🙂 how could we not..just look at how cute he is!

Every month we will keep taking the same picture to see just how big he is going to grow – and just how fast.  Not sure what his weight is right now – can’t wait to find out.  But here is his full 3 1/2 month old size.  Stay tuned for next month and see how big he gets in just a short time 🙂

I met some of the coolest people today during our newborn session.  Amazing story to tell but to keep it brief, they are here for only 3 months but work up north in Ulukhaktok (lets say that they put it this way….they are SO far North that the “Northern Lights” are SOUTH!!!).  They live in 24-hour-a-day darkness for 3 months of the year.  They came down here (where they are originally from) to have their baby, and at the end of January they will return.  To hear their story of how they get groceries flown in, and how seals come into their small town of 400 – how they walk everywhere up there…just all the things that we take for granted where we can just walk to the store ANYTIME of day or night to get a bottle of coke…it’s crazy!  Amazing really.  I mean – what a life story they will have to tell when they move back in a few years time….and to think – they chose me to capture their little princess 🙂  I LOVE MY JOB!!

Camryn’s dad is very interested in photography, and her dad’s dad used to be a photographer…so we were talking about today’s photoshop being the dark room of old style photography and dad mentioned he really likes the OLD looking black and white crackled picture look…so this one’s for you 🙂

Closing in on almost 5 weeks old, I often get a little – maybe ‘panicked’ before these sessions wondering what this baby will look like because I have had very large 5-week-olds who look like they are about 2 months.  When that is the case it’s near impossible to get them to curl up or even to sleep – but when she came in all of 7 pounds 4 ounces…I knew we would have no problem getting her to sleep and to curl up…

Last picture, funny little story…every time I pick up a baby to move them to a different prop or position I always think “ohhhh how could I transfer him/her into dads hands so I can capture this”?  Well today – dad became the photographer! Lol…

I love being a photographer. I absolutely LOVE IT!!!  I love all the babies, all the snuggles and yes – even all the little big messes they make. I just love it!
